We are working in conjunction with the Minnesota State Board of Animal Health, as well as the animal health regulatory bodies of the surrounding states to provide a consistent set of rules and regulations to best serve our cattle consignors and exhibitors.

The 2008 schedule will continue the Minnesota Youth Beef Experience Program , designed to aid youth with their start in the beef cattle business. The program awards heifer calves to FFA and 4-H youth from Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Each winner is responsible for raising, breeding and maintaining complete records on care of the animal while providing monthly progress reports to the original owner and the Minnesota Beef Expo.

NEW! The Minnesota Youth Beef Experience Program (MYBEP) Seminar will be held on Thursday, October, 17th.   Any youth who applied to the 2008 MYBEP are eligible to attend this workshop on nutrition, cattle breeding, handling, financial needs, transportation, and breed profiles. These sessions are developed to enhance a junior's ability to begin and prosper with their own herd of cattle and will be presented by industry and educational professionals along with leading cattlemen. The Minnesota State Cattleman's Assn. will donate an additional heifer to one attendee of this workshop. Additionally, four passes will be awarded to the Minnesota Cattleman's conference held in December.

The Youth Judging Contest will be held on Friday morning.  With dozens of teams and individuals participating, it continues to be an activity that many enjoy participating in.  The Minnesota Beef Expo is an excellent venue for juniors to show off their judging skills and their knowledge of the cattle industry.

NEW! Collegiate Judging Contest:  National Contest Bound 4H or FFA teams and teams from a 4 year college are eligible to enter.
